Deeds of Arms: 150

Gladiatrix in the arenaDeeds 150 specialises in the demonstration of the Gladiatorial games and its surrounding culture from the 2nd Century of Ancient Rome's often colourful history. This is achieved through living history, vignette, gladiatorial games, audience participation and entertainment.

Our displays have taken us all over Europe; as well as the UK to France, Germany, Holland, Italy and Spain. We have been fortunate enough to display in front of crowds tens of thousands strong as well as the more intimate events of a few dozen and have enjoyed them all as have the public.

You can find plenty of images Deeds: 150  in our picture galleries.

Static Display

With a gladiatorial static display, which we believe to be second to none, we can demonstrate a full armoury filled to bursting with a very large gladiatorial arsenal. With supplementary artisans such as armourer, blacksmith, medic, mosaicist, jeweller and stone mason to show not only skills which aided the gladiatorial world but can give a fuller view of Roman life. When teamed with our associate society LEG II AVG the sky is the limit.

The centre piece of the static display is a large configurable building (12 feet x 12 feet, with a 12 feet modular extention when fully up). This building is used as a taverna or armoury forming the backdrop for our vignette and is dressed accordingly with other 40 pieces of gladiatorial equipment or table, chairs and crockery when needed.

Arena Events

Murmillo vs ThracianOur arena events are easily scaled to meet any requirements; they have been done in front of a crowd of half a dozen in a small museum to thirty thousand in France. We demonstrate a typical day at an arena in the Empire's Capitol.

Starting with the massed noxii and animal fights of the morning, we move through the individual noxii fights of the midday sun until we finally end at the main event, the gladiators themselves. Throughout the show we attempt to involve the public, particularly the children, as much as can safely be done.

Private Events

With many private events under our belts ranging from corporate functions to university toga parties to military open days we can bring a full range of experiences and fun to any projects.

It is with these elements that we believe we can offer any solution to fill your requirements should they be small or large.

Gladiatorial Types

We have full, museum quality equipment for Murmillo, Thraex, Retiarius, Laquerius, Provocator, Hoplomachoi, Dimacharius & Secutor. Most of our equipment is manufactured by us to give a far more varied display than the off the shelf equipment readily available. All of our equipment is based on either directly on an artifact or extrapolation from primary sources and iconography.
